Finger Training Video 1

Practice Points:
- Aim for an even rotation of the wrist
- Keep wrists up and fingers curved for a fast, clean execution
- Try to practice this warmup using a variety of dynamics
Finger Training Video 2

Practice Points:
- Aim for an even trill at the start of each bar and a smooth scale transition
- Begin slowly for control before accelerating the tempo
- Try to perform this using different rhythms – a swing rhythm is good for establishing control and co=ordination
Finger Training Video 3

Practice Points:
- Aim for a clean and crisp execution of keys by both hands at the same time
- This exercise is great for ensuring a snappy, detached (staccato) touch across all fingers
- For a fast warm up of all fingers, play this exercise three times – each time getting faster
Finger Training Video 4

Practice Points:
- Be careful of fingering and finger placement
- Aim for an even tone across all keys
- This is a great piece to use to practice dynamic shading. Increase force and tone through the first (ascending) section before gradually softening the dynamics through the second half (descending)
Finger Training Video 5

Practice Points:
- This exercises is different as there is a stronger focus on intervals leading before ascending and descending passages
- To ensure correct rhythm, do not hold the first note of each bar longer than necessary, it may be beneficial to staccato this note before moving on to rest of the passage
Finger Training Video 6

Practice Points:
- This combines arpeggio fingering with trill work so be careful to ensure keys in both hands go down at the same time
- This piece is best played using a detached (staccato) touch
- For a fast warm up of all fingers, play this exercise three times – each time getting faster
